A history-reenactment festival at Dongnae's old walled town, running 31 years since its start as a memorial for the 1592 Japanese invasion's civilian defenders.

A battle remembered on the spot where it happened. The festival recalls the defence of Dongnae’s walled town during the Japanese invasion of 1592, and it is held around the town’s old north gate and the culture centre. What is on. Listings for the festival include a large costumed parade, a live-staged musical that recreates the battle of Dongnae Fortress, a three-strand tug-of-war and a Dongnae market. Listed prices are 10,000 won for the outdoor escape room and 3,000 to 10,000 won for hands-on activities. Programme details were partly last year’s when we checked. The venue list varies. The ministry page lists the culture centre, the north gate plaza, Myeongnyun 1beon-ga and Oncheonjang, while another guide names only the north gate and the culture centre.
