Busan K-pop locations cluster around one neighborhood more than any other in the city: Gamcheon Culture Village, the hillside of color-blocked houses above Gamcheon Port. Three separate music projects, a decade apart, used the same steep alleys — and three months ago, the city hosted something even bigger a few kilometers away, when BTS reunited on a Busan stadium stage for the first time in almost four years.

Busan K-pop locations start with one village’s three shoots

Gamcheon’s houses climb a hillside above the port in stepped rows, repainted in bright, deliberately mismatched colors as part of a 2009-era public art project that turned a poor postwar refugee settlement into one of Busan’s most-photographed neighborhoods. Long before it became a general tourist backdrop, three specific K-content projects used it:

BTS shot official group photos here in 2017 — Chosun Ilbo later confirmed the exact spot after fans started tracking it down following the group’s 2026 Busan concert. Kyuhyun of Super Junior filmed his 2017 solo single “다시 만나는 날” (“The Day We Meet Again”) partly at Gamcheon, centered on a small hillside café now known simply as the “blue house on the stairs,” and partly at Imnang Beach elsewhere in the region.

And in 2020, the Korea Tourism Organization’s “Feel the Rhythm of Korea: Busan” — not a K-pop idol video, but Korea’s own tourism-board music film, built around the band Leenalchi and Ambiguous Dance Company — used Gamcheon as one of its main sets. That video alone has passed 54 million YouTube views.

None of these needed a set. The stepped houses, the narrow stairways and the harbor view below are the same ones a visitor walks through today, repainted periodically but never rebuilt.

In June 2026, BTS held “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN BUSAN” — two nights, June 12 and 13, at Busan Asiad Main Stadium — their first performance together as a full seven-member group since before their military service began. Local press reported roughly 100,000 fans converged on the city across the two nights, enough to turn Busan itself into what one outlet called a “K-pop mecca” for the week, with Gamcheon’s BTS connection getting a fresh round of pilgrimage visits as a result.

The stadium itself isn’t new or built for the occasion — it dates to the 2002 Asian Games and normally hosts Busan IPark football matches. That’s the part worth remembering: a concert this size doesn’t need a purpose-built venue, and the stadium goes back to hosting ordinary matches the week after a tour like this leaves town.

Gamcheon Culture Village and Busan Asiad Main Stadium sit on opposite sides of the city and aren’t a natural pairing for one day — Gamcheon is a hillside walk best done slowly, and the stadium is a standalone destination on event days only.
